Pre-treatment Advice

  • Avoid shaving or waxing 24 hours before treatment or longer for sensitive skin
  • Avoid Botox/Fillers for two weeks prior to your facial massage (some body treatments include facial)
  • Avoid any invasive face treatment for 2 weeks prior to your facial massage
  • Laser hair removal cannot be performed on the same day as your Voya massage
  • We recommend a patch test for anyone with extremely sensitive skin. Please call us on 01962 714 444 to arrange.

Contra-indications

The following may prevent or restrict the treatment. We will conduct a full consultation at your first appointment but please contact us prior to your appointment if any of the following apply to you:

Prevent

  • If you have undergone a recent operation
  • If you are pregnant
  • If you have undiagnosed oedema
  • If you suffer from a chronic or inflamed back condition
  • If you have open cuts and abrasions face/body
  • If you have Skin and eye infections
  • If you have Severe sunburn face/body
  • If you have Conjunctivitis
  • If you a Stye
  • If you are suffering from severe psoriasis on the face
  • If you have acne vulgaris
  • If you have an overactive thyroid (seaweed contains iodine that stimulates the thyroid gland)
  • If you have an allergy to iodine
  • If you have cancer

Restrict

  • If you have a shellfish allergy – This will depend on the severity
  • If you have severe varicose veins – area will be avoided

 

Aftercare advice

Now that you have enjoyed a Voya body treatment. here are a few tips for aftercare

  • Relax and enjoy a Voya tea with our compliments – also available to purchase
  • Replenish fluids with plenty of water and restrict alcohol and caffeine intake
  • Refrain from heat exposure (e.g. sauna, steam room, sunbed), sunbathing and vigorous activities immediately after, as they may prevent full absorption of the oils
  • Consult your therapist for follow-up treatment or a program of continued treatments
  • Continue your treatment benefits at home by using the appropriate products indicated by your therapist
