pre-treatment advice

LVL lash lift

Pre-treatment Advice

  • Do not wear mascara on the day of your treatment and ensure lashes are thoroughly cleansed of mascara or other make up prior to your appointment.
  • Do not remove mascara with an oily make up remover prior to your appointment as this will prevent the treatment
from being effective. If you arrive to your appointment wearing mascara, we regret that the treatment CANNOT BE PERFORMED, and the full charge will be payable.
  • Please ensure a patch test is carried out 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure that you undergo another patch test if:

    – You have not had one for the past 6 months
    – You have had COVID since your last patch test
    – You have had a vaccine since your last patch test

  • Please ensure a patch test is carried out 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please book a
patch test appointment by phone or through the online booking system
  • Remove contact lenses before your appointment
  • Do not tint your lashes in the 7 days before your treatment
  • Wait for 4-6 weeks after removal of eyelash extensions to allow time for your lashes to return to full health

Contra-indications

The following may prevent or restrict the treatment. We will conduct a full consultation at your first appointment but please contact us prior to your appointment if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding (wait until 6 months post-birth)
  • You have dry or brittle lashes. Lash treatments will not be suitable as the lashes could be damaged. We can recommend products to rehydrate and condition the lashes
  • You have any eye condition
  • You have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy for cancer – wait 3 years after treatment
  • You have recently undergone laser eye surgery – a note will be required to confirm that you are fully healed by the medical professional responsible for your care. If you are still using regular eye drops the treatment may not be suitable
  • You have a skin condition around the eye area (Eczema, Dermatitis, Psoriasis)
  • You have/ have recently had conjunctivitis or another eye infection
  • You have cysts in the eye area
  • You have Blepharitis
  • You have Keratitis
  • You have a Stye
  • You have any swelling, redness or irritation
  • You have cataracts and are using prescribed medication such as eye drops – a GP letter may be required
  • You have dry eye syndrome – whether the procedure can be performed will be dependant on whether you suffer from the wet or dry form of the condition. Please discuss this with us.
  • If you suffer from glaucoma, a GP note will be required
  • You have diabetic retinopathy and are using a prescribed medication – a GP letter may be required
  • You have Distichiasis (eyelashes growing against and rubbing the eye – condition present since birth) or Trichiasis (temporarily ingrown lashes)
  • You have Alopecia that affects your lashes

  • You are suffering from hives
  • You have hypersensitive skin
  • You have broken skin in or around the eyes
  • If you suffer from severe eczema anywhere on the body (you are more likely to suffer allergy and reactions to the products) lash treatments will not be suitable for you. If you have mild eczema not in the eye area, then we can proceed with your treatment
  • If you have psoriasis in the treatment area
  • If you suffer from epilepsy, please let us know so that we can take steps to keep you safe during the treatment
  • If you suffer from shaking or twitching, you may not be suitable for lash treatments. As we use relatively sharp tools close to your eyes this could present a risk to you

Aftercare advice

Our LVL Lash Lift is a low maintenance treatment meaning you don’t need to return to the salon after your treatment.

However, we do recommend using a product to keep lashes hydrated and conditioned. We recommend RevitaLash Advanced eyelash conditioner or Nouveau Lashes Lash & Brow Conditioning Serum at home to help nourish and strengthen lashes and keep them looking healthy. Ultimately, this means you can enjoy the effects of your LVL treatment for longer. These are available to purchase in the salon

  • For the first 24 hours after your treatment is important not to allow water to come into contact with your lashes
  • For 2 days afterwards, do not steam your face, use a steam bath, swim or wash your face with hot water
  • Do not use waterproof mascara
  • Use oil-free make-up remover if mascara is worn (only use a water-based mascara)
  • Do not rub your eyes when washing your face – always pat the lashes dry after cleansing
  • Ensure lashes are not manipulated into different positions (e.g. when sleeping, cleansing the face, applying moisturiser or cosmetics)
  • Do use lash curlers
  • Avoid strong sunlight or UV light (if tinted)
  • To keep your lashes looking dark, return to the salon after 4 weeks to top up your tint
  • Book your next LVL treatment for 6- 8 weeks later
