Pre-treatment Advice

  • Discontinue any manual or chemical exfoliation 5 days prior to treatment
  • Avoid direct sunlight for 5-7 days prior to treatment
  • Schedule facial waxing 2 weeks prior to treatment
  • Stop using retinol products at least 5 days prior to your appointment
  • Wait 2 weeks following laser treatments or laser hair removal for dermaplaning
  • Wait 4 weeks following botox/fillers for dermaplaning

Contra-indications

The following may prevent or restrict the treatment. We will conduct a full consultation at your first appointment but please contact us prior to your appointment if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • If you are currently undergoing treatment for cancer or skin cancer a GP letter will be required
  • You have open wounds or sores in the treatment area
  • You have an active skin infection (bacterial, fungal or viral i.e herpes/warts)
  • You have an allergy to metals or stainless steel
  • Please let us know if you have any other allergies or have ever suffered anaphylaxis
  • You have a Haemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or haemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction
  • Currently taking any drugs with the ingredient Isotretinoin, Roaccutane or any prescription strength Vitamin A in the past 12 months
  • You have diabetes
  • You are on any blood thinning medication (anticoagulants, Aspirin, St Johns Wort, Warfarin)
  • You have a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • You have a history of keloid scars
  • If you suffer from active acne or acne rosacea – please let us know prior to the treatment as it may be necessary to manage the acne with topical skincare prior to treatment
  • You have eczema or psoriasis in the area to be treated. Please also let us know if you suffer from chronic eczema or psoriasis on any other part of the body
  • You have a history of contact dermatitis
  • You are sunburnt or windburnt
  • You have a wound healing deficiency or disorder

Aftercare advice

  • Take 10-15 minutes to rest and relax following your massage
  • For maximum benefit leave the oils on your skin for at least 2-3 hours
  • Replenish fluids with plenty of water and restricting alcohol and caffeine intake
  • Refrain from heat exposure (e.g. sauna, steam room, sunbed), sunbathing and vigorous activities immediately after, as they may prevent full absorption of the oils
  • If you have received massage with Revive Morning Body Oil or Support Equilibrium, due to citrus oil content, please shower before exposing your skin to UV light
  • Consult your therapist for follow-up treatment or a program of continued treatments
  • Continue your treatment benefits at home by using the appropriate products indicated by your therapist
