Pre-treatment Advice

  • Please ensure a patch test is carried out 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure that you undergo another patch test if:
    – You have not had one for the past 6 months
    – You have had COVID since your last patch test
    – You have had a vaccine since your last patch test
  • Please remove make-up from the brow and surrounding area before your appointment
  • Discontinue the use of topical retinols 7 days prior to your appointment

Contra-indications

The following may prevent or restrict the treatment. We will conduct a full consultation at your first appointment but please contact us prior to your appointment if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are under 18 years of age
  • You have an allergy to tints, henna or PPD or any other allergies
  • You are undergoing Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy as this can weaken the hairs
  • You have Alopecia
  • You have Dermatitis around the brow area
  • You have Active Psoriasis or Eczema in the area
  • You have used steroid creams around the area in the past 6 weeks (relevant for waxing)
  • You are diabetic (relevant for waxing)
  • You have a stye
  • You have conjunctivitis or any other eye infection – must wait 28 days to be clear
  • You have had any recent surgical procedure around eye area. It will be necessary for the area to be fully healed for us to conduct the treatment (usually around 6 months)
  • You have used a sunbed in the last 48 hours
  • You have had a Skin Peel (Chemical or Enzyme) or undergone microneedling within the last 3 weeks
  • You have had Botox or Fillers in the past 2 weeks
  • You have used topical retinoids in the past 7 days
  • You have taken Roaccutane, Tretinoin or any other prescription strength Retin A in the past 12 months

Aftercare advice

  • Avoid getting the brow area wet or coming into contact with water for 24 hours
  • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours
  • Avoid touching and rubbing the area
  • Avoid using fake tanning products in the area for 3 days
  • Rebook your next Brow Lamination Treatment for 6 to 8 weeks’ time
  • We recommend using the HD Brows Tint Lock Serum or another brow conditioning serum twice daily to keep the hairs conditioned. This is just like conditioning your hair after undergoing a perm or dying process
