  • If you are under 18 years of age
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Please let us know if you are taking medication for liver or severe heart-related problems
  • Recent surgery – please disclose if you have undergone any recent surgery – it may be necessary to hold off on massage treatments for a period of time if you have undergone major surgery or we may be able to avoid the area in the case of minor surgery
  • Vaccinations – leave 24 hours after undergoing a vaccine and having a massage as you may experience an increased immune response
  • If you are under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol you will not be able to undergo the treatment
  • Contagious skin and eye conditions
  • Active Cold sores (facial)
  • Severe sunburn
  • Acne vulgarus
  • Invasive facial treatments within two weeks of including botox and filler
  • Undiagnosed oedema
  • Laser hair removal on the same day
  • Chronic back conditions
  • Cancer – If you are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, we will ask that doctor’s approval be sought prior to the treatment.
  • Waxing – avoid waxing 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you have been waxed in the 24 hours prior to your appointment, this area will be avoided

  • Diabetes – wait until 2 hours after a meal and/or taking insulin before undergoing massage
  • Epilepsy – Please inform us for safety reasons
  • Heat treatments e.g. sauna, steam room, sunbed, sunbathing. You should undertake these before rather than after a massage and ensure your body has cooled down before the treatment.
  • Please let us know if you have any metal plates or pins, injuries or areas of bruising or pain and we will adapt the treatment accordingly

Aftercare advice

  • Take 10-15 minutes to rest and relax following your massage
  • For maximum benefit leave the oils on your skin for at least 2-3 hours
  • Replenish fluids with plenty of water and restrict alcohol and caffeine intake
  • Refrain from heat exposure (e.g. sauna, steam room, sunbed), sunbathing and vigorous activities immediately after, as they may prevent full absorption of the oils
  • Consult your therapist for follow-up treatment or a program of continued treatments
  • Continue your treatment benefits at home by using OTO CBD every day to prolong the effects.
